NavigationINCIDENT REPORTIf your dog is involved in a fight or other such incident in the park, we ask that you use this form (found under Rules & Regulations on our website) to file a report. This helps us determine what circumstances are most likely to lead to fights. We can then establish groundrules that avoid these situations and lead to a more peaceful environment. It also helps us identify dogs that exhibit problem behavior and take steps appropriate to the circumstances. User login |
Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) opens "boutique" adoption center in Center CityOn January 17th, PAWS opened its Downtown Adoption Center opens at 2nd & Arch Streets Read about it on NBC10 Unique, New Animal Adoption Center Opens In City PHILADELPHIA - A new shelter for homeless, abandoned and unwanted animals is opening in downtown Philadelphia. It resembles a pet boutique more than a traditional shelter. Located at Second and Arch streets in the heart of Old City, PAWS , the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society , is a division of the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association. PAWS hopes the city's only downtown shelter will save between 2,000 and 3,000 animals this year. The shelter's atmosphere has a warm, homey feeling in a neighborhood full of residents and workers. People can also bring their pets there and purchase pet food. Proceeds will benefit the organization. PAWS wants to open more shelters and eventually save 90 percent of the animals in the city system. About 30,000 animals enter it each year, and about 40 percent are euthanized. |
