Ethel,Borax Treatment of Park

Previously the park experienced an outbreak of hookworms and other undesirable parasites. Soil from different areas of the park tested positive for parasites. After research by board members, and consulting veterinarians, it was advised that the best method of treating the problem was to mix borax with the soil. The borax is a natural salt which kills the worm eggs before they mature.
