Ok, so you’re at the park and you see two dogs about to face off. Or worse yet, a full fledge fight is underway.
What do you do? How can you minimize injuries? How can you keep the peace?

“All of a Sudden”
It’s rare for dogs to instantaneously fight. In 99% of most altercations have several ‘warm up’ arguments prior to an actual fight.
Look for repeated humping or “lean overs” - one dog placing it’s chin over another dog’s back repeatedly. As arousal levels increase, dogs that appear to be “boxing” with the back feet on the ground and the front feet off the ground, are often approaching the tipping point.

Please be aware the police have posted signs reminding cars that parking on Rodman Street is prohibited at all times. They are actively policing the area and writing tickets.

You are invited to the next meeting of the Seger Park Dog Owners Association (SPDOA) to be held on Thursday, June 19th from 7:30-8:30 PM.

We will meet at the Seger Recreation Building, which is the brick building on the Locust Street side of the park with the red door.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

PHILADELPHIA - A new shelter for homeless, abandoned and unwanted animals is opening in downtown Philadelphia.

It resembles a pet boutique more than a traditional shelter.

Located at Second and Arch streets in the heart of Old City, PAWS , the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society , is a division of the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association.

PAWS hopes the city's only downtown shelter will save between 2,000 and 3,000 animals this year.

PAWS Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society
PAWS, The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is a donor funded division of the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association dedicated to saving Philadelphia's unwanted animals.

The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSCPA) invites animal lovers to bring their four-legged friends to Yappy Hour at Tavern 17, 220 S. 17th Street, Philadelphia, from 5-7 p.m.

This event is scheduled every last Thursday during the months of June, July, August and September.
